Went to UTM a couple of years, worked for Wright Mats (slab field) and Corps of Engineers until 1975. Been at the Banner since 1975. Still enjoy hunting, fishing and following The Big Orange.

Sold the Lake County Banner is 2013 and spent some time in Florida following that. Had a great experience working for Hopper Farms during harvest in 2014.

Now I am office manager at the slab field--the same place I started in 1969--and working in Delta, Louisiana working for Mississippi Limestone.

School Story

I have come full circle back on the slab field and now I know what I loved about it. It is incredibly hard work under extreme conditions and you are constantly dealing with people one on one. You never know what a day will bring on the slab field, you just know it will not be dull. We have had injuries and dealt with the biggest July flood since 1928.--Written July 29, 2015.
