Since we graduated, i attended the University of Toledo (three times). Graduated 1976 with a Bachelor of Education in Music. Performed full time as a musician until 1979, worked as a design engineer at Dearmond, Inc. designing guitar pickups and effects pedals. Attended University of Toledo for Electronics Engineering Technology. Almost finished. Became Broadcast Engineer in radio. Worked at WVOI-AM TOledo, WHLO-AM Akron 1 year each. Worked at WGTE-FM public Radio in Toledo for 15 years, most as Chief Radio Engineer. Maintained three transmitter sites, one studio location and recorded the Toledo Symphony for broadcast. I was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hogkins Lymphoma in 1997 and under went chemotherapy culminating in a Stem Cell replacement. I appear to have made a full recovery! After that I left WGTE and have done some part time radio engineering on a contract basis. At that time Lynn and I were looking for a school for my son Andy to attend for Junior High and High School as he is very arts oriented and a fine musician (better than his old man). We discovered the Toledo School For the Arts that had just started up. I liked the environment and dusted off the teaching certificate. I then convinced them to hire me part time as a music teacher teaching Jazz and Music theory. I only worked part time as I was only a year out of the hospital stay with lymphoma. It became full time two years later and I am now in my tenth year as a full time music teacher. Beginning in 2006, I returned again to the University of Toledo to pursue a Masters Degree in Education majoring in Career And Technical Education (formerly called Vocational Ed) We teach the Arts in that fashion, emphasizing real life skills. All of theis time I have been performing as a guitarist and sometime singer in various bands. Since 1991 I have worked in two, Mogen David and the Grapes Of Wrath and since 1999, Hepcatrevival. I have actually been getting steadily better as a musician, partially because I teach music and am around it every day. Also, my son Andy is a musician and has been keeping me active.
