Always wondered what happened to John Williams.  John and I were locker partners all the way through high school-but I never saw or heard from him after our graduation day.  I had heard he went to Antioch...not a thing about him since.  If anyone knows anything about John, please post on this forum.  (Oh yeah, we were in Forum together!)

Everybody, here's the deal: it's been 51 years since we chose "rebel" as our school mascot. South Toledo and all. WHAT WERE WE THINKING? (Hey, I was thinking James Dean.) Instead we got Johnny Reb, "Dixie" and the confederate flag! These were, and still are, even more poisonous now than then. And don't get me started on the powder blue fascist band uniforms. It's way beyond racist. We gotta repudiate this stuff. We didn't know from up then. It's our duty now to make it right. That's how I feel, Jerry

I think that it was repudiated.   In 1992, support groups met to discuss the rebel flag and the school song, Dixie. There was some controversy over the use of the flag and the song. The points agreed upon include the following: the name "Rebels" will be retained, the horseman will continue to be the mascot with a slight modification, the rebel flag will not be used in the school or in school events, and the colors will remain the same. In June 1993, a new fight song was adopted.  By the way, today's Bowsher is a very multi-cultural school.

I'm curious as to whatever happened to Linda Applebee and I wish I could figure out how to get to the class of 65 site.  Though I graduated with you guys, the kids I was closest to and should have graduated with are the ones in the class of 65.

Sue,

You may be able to find Linda Appleby through her sister, Janet Cope.  I think she and her husband Don are still in Toledo.

Thanks for the help,Jill. I am actually on both class lists. I graduated with this class but I was raised with the other one. I graduated early because my brother was graduating, too, joining the Marines and it was off the Vietnam. I wasn't sure if I'd ever see him again and I loved him like a twin.

Thanks Dave. I never knew  that Linda had a sister. Do you know when she graduated and where from?

To Bob Klipstein... you said you were going to be sure I got all of the things from the reunion (including the class picture, I hope). I gave you an address to send it to but that address is soon to change so could you send the things to my home? The address is 2415 Lancaster Dr., Apt TB, Ann Arbor, MI, 48105. Thanks and my love to all! I hope everyone loves the entire program planned.

Wow, what memories.  I sit here at work checking all of the updates each day and remember everyone like it was yesterday.  I am not able to attend the Reunion due to another commitment, but know that I am going to regret it now!  Have a wonderful time, I will be reminiscing all weekend even though I won't be with you.  Love to everyone-have a wonderful reunion.  Wendy Dyer Duda

Jim, Your pictures are great!  Such fun to look at now that we are back at the lake!  It sure was a wonderful weekend.  The cimmittee did a wonderful job!  Much thanks to them.  I hope we all keep in touch some way.  It sure didn't feel like we (some of us) had not seen each other in 50 years!

Jim, you and your wife did a fantastic job of taking pictures and getting them posted so we all can remember so many good times and good friends at our reunion!  I couldn't make the "New Bowsher" tour but your pics made me feel almost as if I had.  It was a wonderful and full week-end!  Bowsher64 - making more memories!!  I too hope we all can find ways to keep in touch.

THANKS.....thanks to all of my classmates that served in the military. I am sorry that the military of our generation came home without the proper welcome. I knew an airman who came home and was told to get out of his uniform as quickly as possible since he was connecting in San Francisco and would be a target for some anti-war factions. Better late than never....Thank you, thank you, thank you !!!!!
