Right after high school I went to Eastern Michigan University for a semester, then moved home to go to UT. Graduated UT in 1969 in education. Earned a MEd in 1981. Josi
In 1969 Bob Jakubowski and I were married, had 5 daughters (1 died at birth), and divorced in 1987. Then in 1991 I married Larry Waltzer. He was from N. Dakota and after 10 years wanted us to move to N.D. Since I wasn' t leaving Ohio we split in 2001. Then in 2003 I met and married my true sole mate, Ed Maggard. Since he was a charter captain we moved to Marblehead. He passed in 2009 from cancer. I really miss fishing. Fulfilling my promise to Ed I married Roger Goad in 2011. He has been awesome and a sole mate. God has given me 2 sole mates in my life. I am so blessed.
Since September 2015 I have either been in a cast or brace as I shattered my leg falling while climbing out of my granddaughters' tree house. Hopefully, by July I will be on my feet. My husband has been wonderful taking care of me.

While teaching 1st grade I had my own first grader and 6 month old twins. Our superintendent came into my room for a short visit when I asked if next year I could move to the middle school because I was tired of cleaning up pee. We both laughed and in the fall of 83 I went to Gateway Middle School in Maumee for the final 25 years of my career. In all, I had worked in Maumee for 35+ years.
After being retired for 2 year I decided to sub. I subbed in Sandusky, Monroeville, Port Clinton, Clyde, and Danbury. This lasted until Covid. I went back when we were allowed, then after back surgery in the summer of 2021 I worked 2 days. That was enough.
But the same day Jim and Pat, owners of Jim's Taxidermy, asked me to work 3 days a week as a secretary. But I do about everything but taxidermy itself. It is keep my sanity job.
