Our Classmate Jim Herring/Thackeray passed away April 17, 2017 in Deland, FL. I have not found an Obit yet but I know that Jim and his wife Patty lived in Deland for at least the last 15 years. I worked in Deland after moving to Florida in 2004 and had lunch on several occasions with Jim and Patty.
Please keep Jim's wife Patty and their family in your thoughts. I will send out a link to his obit when it is published.

Jim and I were good friends in high school as we both liked to dance and frequented the "Y", the "Faba". the Ottawa Park Pavillion together and even made a few trips to the Devil's Lake Pavillion to dance. I hope he found all he wanted in life and finds even more in the afterlife. Rest in Peace Jim.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Jim. "Yeats wrote, "Count where man's glory most begins and ends, and say my glory is I had such friends." RIP Gentleman Jim

Jim and I go way back and have gotten together several times in the last few years. After I moved to Florida in 2004 I worked for a Company in Deland Florida which was were Jim retired to. We saw each other at the 40th reunion in 2007 and found out he lived in town where I worked. We meet several times during the years after. However, I retired at the end of 2014 and we had not been together since then. I was surprised as everyone else at his passing. Gone way to early. RIP JIm.
