CBS on Sundays, for five of the top-rated shows in a row -- leading off with the #2-rated show, “60 Minutes”. . . . followed by Carroll O’Connor tending bar at “Archie Bunker’s Place” . . . .then “One Day at a Time,” with Bonnie Franklin . . . .Linda Lavin as widow waitress “Alice” . . . and finally the All in the Family spinoff, “The Jeffersons” . . . .ABC had two top-rated shows on Tuesday, leading off with the #4 show “Three’s Company,” with John Ritter and two female “roommates” . . . . followed by “Too Close for Comfort,” starring Ted Knight . . . . a new CBS Friday “wine family” saga, “Falcon Crest,” with matriarch Jane Wyman . . . which aired right after the “oil family” saga “Dallas,” in its fourth season., and a third Friday CBS show hit show moved to accommodate Falcon Crest “The Dukes of Hazzard” . . . .also ABC’s Saturday “The Love Boat,” cruise . . . and the ever-popular “M*A*S*H” on Mondays.

Texas was ranked #2 . . . .San Francisco edged Cincinnati 26-21 to win the 1982 Super Bowl . . . .Regular-season #1 North Carolina edged Georgetown 63-62 in the NCAA finals. . . .led by Magic Johnson the LA Lakers whipped Philadelphia in 6 games for the NBA title. . . .and the New York Islanders swept Vancouver in 4 to win their 3rd straight Stanley Cup . . . .Gato Del Sol won the Kentucky Derby . . .and Gordon Johncock the Indy 500.
