Donald Eugene Smith Jr

Like most of the sailors I knew, had planned to stay in San Diego when I retired from the Navy, in 1984. But in 1997, We relocated to Colorado to be near my two boys and their families. My daughter and her family were in Alabama, I had no desire to go South. From 1979 to 2011, I have been in and out of physical security jobs. Unless I win the lotto, this is where I'll make my final stand.

Freshman year, played foot football - "B" string/offensive & Defensive end. 1st game, I went in - other team had ball - their quarterback no fool - ran the play around my end - they carried me out (nothing serious). Later I went in again - we had the ball - I'm running all alone - my quarterback over throws me and the ball touches my outstretched finger tips - I quit. Junior year, I think, played basketball (not very good) - Coach gave me a letter (making every practice). And final year, had a problem staying awake - flunkout of two classes. Couple years later found out I had Narcolepsy.
