1960-1997: Attended Washburn Univ., State Univ. of New York, Univ. South Carolina, Univ. of Southern California, and earned B.A., M.S. Educ., Ed.D. candidate (all but dissertation completed), M.S. Systems Management, and Ph.D. in Management.

1966-1972: Captain, US Air Force. Served, first, as a Minute Man Missile Combat Crew Commander of a Wing (top level) instructor crew. Served, second, as a B-52 navigator-bombardier. Assignments included two tours (85 combat missions) in VietNam War. Awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and 3 Air Medals. Graduated (in residence) from Officer Squadron School at Maxwell AFB, Alabama.

1973-2009: Served as teacher (district teacher-of-the-year during 2nd year of teaching), ES principal, HS principal, and Associate Superintendent in a variety of locations including Virginia, South Carolina, Germany (Dept. of Defense Military Dependents Schools), and Texas.
