Mile's niece Natalie tells us of his passing in 1984. She has asled us to ask for more photos of Mike. If you have a photo please post it on this page or contact Skip or Sandy Gladfelter at sgladfelter@windstream.net.
This is very off the cuff, but Mike was my best friend. He died in the 1980's in Wisconsin from cancer. He was married and a school teacher. He had a brother Gary Oyler, also a grad (and State Wrestling Champ) of THS in 1962. Don't know where he is, but was a fireman in Topeka. They also had a sister named Karen. Perhaps some of the family can fill in or correct me, and I apologize if my facts are wrong.
Skip, I consider Gary to be my best friend, albeit we have hardly any contact due to my moving to KY in 1973.Mike and I were also close.I visited Mike several times while he was a student @ Concordia College in Nebraska. Gary is listed in the Topeka phone book in Quinton Heights area where he is retired as a Topeka fire fighter. Actually, Mike was a school principal when he retired and his wife Bertha is still living. Their sister Karen(my first love as a matter of fact) died recently. So, Gary has had a difficult time, having lost his brother & sister plus their mother was killed in an auto accident when they were in their teens. Gary's dad died recently too after working well into his very senior years @ Stratton's Hardware store.

Appreciate the update. I did know but had forgotten, that their mom (Dorothy?) died in auto accident.
