After Marla graduated from Topeka High, she attended Clark's Business School. She later attended Bryan Travel College. She worked for Security benefit Life for 28 years, where she was a lead operator in the word processing department. At the time of her death she was the assistant manager of the Greyhound Bus Station.
Marla was very active in the VFW, serving as president twice, and as secretary at the time of her death. She was also a member of ABWA, seving as prsident in 1994.
She married Larry M. German in 1968. They were divorced. She is survived by her daughter and son, her father, and her brother.
Marla is buried at Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery.
