Foy F. Akins Jr. was born June 27, 1946 in Topeka, Ks. He was one of eight children born to the late Foy F. Akins Sr. and Lillian Patterson- Akins. One sister Brenda Akins and a nephew LaShawn Akins preceded him in death
He departed from our lives Wednesday January 30, 2019 at his home with family.
Mr. Akins attended and graduated from Topeka High School.
On June 5, 1968 Foy united in marriage to Charlotte L. Akins. From this union came three children, two girls and a boy. Our parents were married for 50 amazing years.
He was retired and worked for Hallmark Cards for 39 years and worked for Presbyterian Manor for 14 years.
Foy was a great husband and father. He was the rock of our family, without him our lives will never the same. Foy Akins was the type of man who you could depend on. He was hard working, dedicated, and an honest man. He was a Christian and God Fearing man.
No matter who you were, and where you came from, Foy and his wife ( Charlotte Akins) would open their door and their hearts. As a Man, husband, father, and friend, he will truly be missed.
His enjoyments were watching sports that included football, baseball, and nascar. His favorite hobby was cutting the grass and spending time with his family and Great-Grandchildren.
He's leaves to mourn his loss of a loving wife of the home, Mrs. Charlotte Louise Akins, a son, Foy Akins III(Tene Akins) and two daughters Carla Yvonne Akins and Kristele Michelle Akins with three grandchildren Jordan Tyrell Akins Kristele D. Akins, and Jazmyn Yvonne Akins and two great-grandchildren Zane and Zara Akins and a sister-in-law Terrella Akins of Topeka Kansas. Other survivors include three brothers, Leland Akins, Clyde Akins, and Michael Akins along with two sisters Wanda Akins and Wanita Akins and a stepsister Sondra Easten. As a part of him the nephews include Wesley Anderson, Curtis Eatmon with wife Shaneé Eatmon, TreMayne Akins with wife Evelyn Akins, Paul Coleman, Kevin Coleman, Jameel Anderson, Ha'san Anderson. Another part of his heart was his nieces Shanna Coleman-Dickson, Andrea Akins.
