
TOPEKA, KANSAS - Carl S. Emerson, 78, of Topeka, KS passed away Friday, June 10, 2022, at Homestead Assisted Living, Auburn, KS. He was born July 21, 1943, in Little Rock, AR, the son William and Elsie (Anderson) Emerson.
Carl was a 1962 graduate of Highland High School lettering three years in basketball. He worked for Emerson Construction for 30 years and founded Emcon in 1989. Carl was a sports enthusiast, enjoying all sports especially rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals.
He married Crystal Decker in Topeka, they later divorced. Carl is survived by six children, Jill (Michael) Gustin, Tim (Sherry) Emerson, Tony (Allison) Emerson, Cale (Lisa) Emerson, Adam (Dana) Emerson, and Jara Emerson. Sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elsie, ten siblings, and a grandson.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Elara Caring Hospice, 901 NE River Road, Suite 101, Topeka, KS 66616. www.midwest-cremation.com
