Sad to hear/see this. Another Richard in class from kindergarten through high school. Post-1961, seen as a sensitive guy whose family lived across the street; his brother dated Sis for awhile.
Richard was one of the good ones. Becky and I enjoyed his & Cathey's visits to N. Texas while on their motorhome journeys to see family. His somewhat dry sense of humor and friendship will be truly missed.

From remarks delivered at his memorial today:
He was the Special Sauce.
Any place you could go, anything you could be doing, that place or that doing was bound to be a little bit better if Richard showed up.
He always added, never subtracted.
And the key to the Special Sauce was its one missing ingredient…, ego.
He never put himself forward, never bragged or played for attention.
He was as comfortable within himself as any man I’ve ever known.
Some men may be as smart and experienced as he was,
others may be as easy to spend time with,
but for both those things taken together he was without equal.

Take care of yourself now Richard. You have done everything for the rest of us and we are grateful for your life..
