BERRYTON- Jo Ann Stevenson, 60, of Berryton, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2006 at a Topeka hospital. She was born on December 22, 1945 in Topeka, the daughter of John and Betty McCarter Meek. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1963. Jo was employed by American Home Life Insurance Company, Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and then was employed by the Topeka Capital-Journal in the advertising department for 23 years before retiring. She was a life long member of Highland Heights Christian Church. Jo married Terry D. Stevenson on May 27, 1967 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include two sons, Eric D. Stevenson and wife, Lori of Topeka, Brian D. Stevenson and wife, Sonya of Topeka, seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Danielle, Jacob, Zakary, Jamie, Nicholas and Taylor, one sister, Cheryl Seals of Topeka and one brother, Richard Meek of Topeka. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Highland Heights Christian Church. Burial will follow in Lynn Creek Cemetery southeast of Topeka. Jo will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Southeast Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Highland Heights Christian Church, 2930 S.E.
