Leona L. (Voelker) Coleman, 64, Topeka, passed away on Friday, November 06, 2009 at Midland Hospice House. Leona was born March 7, 1945 in Holton, KS, the daughter of Paul F. and Wilma May (Holt) Voelker, Sr. She was raised in Hoyt and later moved to Topeka where she attended Highland Park High. She married Robert F. Coleman and resided in Kansas City and Hannibal, MO with their 4 girls. They later divorced. Moving to Oklahoma she received her Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy; working for Medi-Flight for 18 years. Later she earned a Masters Degree from University of Central Oklahoma and ventured to Boise, ID then to Port Townsend, WA where she became a Funeral Director. Leona loved Blues music, festivals, the outdoors, and spending time with her kids. She was as member of P.E.O. and AARC. Survived by 4 daughters, Kimberly (Kevin) Tackett, Felicia (Kevin) Hunter, Robin Seymour, all of Oklahoma City, OK, Andrea Cantrell, San Diego, CA; 6 grandchildren, Kristina, Autumn, Karris, Acacia, Channing, James; 3 great grandchildren, Tyler, Alana, Harlin; brother, Paul Frank (Virginia) Voelker, Jr., Atchison, KS; and sister, Shirley J. (Marvin) Smith, Topeka. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
