After high school, I went west to Kansas State U. I received my Bachelor’s degree in ’68, married in ’69, and finished my Master’s in ’71 while my husband completed his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. We then spent the next three years (’71-’74) in Morocco, North Africa where Jim fulfilled his military commitment. Living there was an experience of a lifetime and we took every opportunity to travel throughout Morocco and Europe.
In 1976, I began a 28-year career in academe at Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR. I earned a PhD in marketing in ’87 from Oklahoma State U. During my tenure at Oregon State, I served as department chair and later as assistant dean for student affairs. Since retirement in 2004, my husband and I have enjoyed traveling and pursuing new interests. I’m currently enjoying the process of creating art quilts and have sold a few commissioned pieces.
