Don Cox

Don (Peanuts), was a fun loving guy.  He loved drama and was in many school plays; he was a great performer.

 

OSAWATOMIE -- Donald Gene "Toby" Cox, 49, formerly of Sherman Oaks, Calif., died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at his father's home in Lawrence. He had cancer.

He was born Jan. 4, 1951, in Paola, the son of Vearl LaVern and Dorothy Helen Rodgers Cox. He was raised in DeSoto and Topeka and graduated from Highland Park High School in Topeka. He studied drama at the University of Missouri at Kansas City and had acted in dinner theaters in Topeka and Kansas City. He performed at the Waldo Astoria and Tiffany's Attic in Kansas City and toured throughout the world with performing groups for several years. He had lived in California for 25 years before he moved to Lawrence several months ago.

Survivors include his father, Vearl Cox, Lawrence; and his brother, Larry Cox, Olathe.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. Burial will be at Osawatomie Cemetery. Relatives and friends will meet from 12:30 p.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
