David Frear

David Kenneth Frear passed away peacefully at his home on January 19, 2014. David was born April 12, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri to parents, Louise and Gene Frear. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1968. He then was in the Army Reserves from 1969-1972. After an honorable discharge he stayed in Topeka and learned his trade of laying tile and then owned and operated Frear Tile. He was a perfectionist; in fact, so much that his work appeared in Better Homes & Gardens and Parade of Homes. David was asked what his best time of life was and without hesitation it was attending tennis tournaments with his daughter, Sophia. Sophia was always a winner in David's eyes. She was his pride and joy. Survivors include father, Gene Frear of Florida, daughter, Sophia, sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Wayne Lay, all of Topeka. Special care givers and friends are Sophia's mother, Tym Frear, and her significant other, Dennis Morris, and night time care givers, Tona and Trina. Also, are Dave's three best bros of over fifty years - Charles Nations, Larry Fritts and Ron Faunce who made memories that will never be forgotten. A memorial service in remembrance of David will be held on Thursday, January 23rd, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel - 4700 SW 17th Street. Visitation to follow after the service. David chose to be cremated and no burial is scheduled at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Ks. - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/cjonline/obituary.aspx?pid=169218789#sthash.jI5shVwm.dpuf
