Harold was a soft spoken guy who was so very kind.  Harold was born on August 16, 1950 and entered Heaven's gates on September 17, 2002.

Harold L. Hubrig, 52, Topeka, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at a Topeka health care facility.

Mr. Hubrig was employed with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 17 years before retiring because of failing health.

He was born Aug. 16, 1950, in Topeka, the son of Ferail and Marjorie Hillis Hubrig. He graduated from Highland Park High School and The University of Kansas.

Mr. Hubrig was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

He married Dorothy J. Manthe on Aug. 18, 1973, in Lawrence. She died on Feb. 18, 2001.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Ferail and Margie Hubrig, Selma, Calif.; and a sister, Marilynn Castro, Topeka.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Highland Chapel. Burial will be in Topeka Cemetery. Mr. Hubrig will lie in state at the funeral chapel after 3 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m.
