Alfred Freddie (Alfie) Mosqueda

Alfred Freddie (Alfie) Mosqueda, 56, Topeka went to be with the Lord Fri., Aug. 3, 2007 after a long battle with leukemia. Freddie was born Sept. 3, 1950 in Topeka, the son of Manuel and Sarah Guerrero Mosqueda. Freddie and his wife, Karla, had 29 wonderful years together. They loved each other unconditionally and with all their hearts. Karla will truly miss him but knows that he is in a better place now, where he will have no more pain or suffering. They were blessed with two children, a wonderful daughter-in-law and a beautiful granddaughter. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1968-1970 where he served our country in Vietnam. Freddie worked for 37 years at Hallmark Cards, most of those as a machinist. He made many friends there and will be missed by every one of them. Freddie was a member of Lake Shawnee Mens Club where he participated in the Mens Golf League. He had a true passion for golf. Karla will miss having her golfing buddy. He was a member of Mater Dei Parish where he served as a Communion Minister until his illness prevented him from doing so. He loved that ministry. Freddie leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Karla; son, Craig Mosqueda and his wife, Leah, Nicholasville KY; daughter, Nicole Mosqueda, Lawrence; granddaughter, Anna Claire Mosqueda; his mother, Sarah Mosqueda, Topeka; brothers, Eddie, Tony and Manuel, Jr., all of California, Charlie and Mario, Topeka; sisters, Beverly Conejo, KCMO, Lupe Saucedo, Yolanda Mosqueda and Mary Barrera, all of Topeka; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Gabriel Mosqueda. Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tues. at Mater Dei Holy Name Church, at 10th and Clay, where a parish rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wed. at the Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Mater Dei Parish or to the Lukemia and Lymphoma Society sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka KS 66614.
