Ran track and x-country at Santa Monica College and then at Humboldt State University.
When my athletic eligibility was up, I came back to Southern Cal and finished my education in evolutionary biology at UCLA (can't believe I never ran into Matt Arnett).
After college I went to work for McCormick Ambulance and attended the fire academy at El Camino College. I did an internship with the Inlgewood Fire Department and then a year later became a full time firefighter which I have done (and loved) for nearly ten years.
I see Pat Sprengel on big fires every now and then and I keep looking for Brian Slattery but I always just miss him.
I still surf as often as I can (not as often as I'd like). I fish and spend as much time on the ocean as possible.
I love being a family man. I met my wife in '94 while at UCLA and got married in 2000.
