It's a bummer we won't be attending the reunion! There is a conflict with a destination wedding and there's no way around it. So, since I can't share my update in person ... here it is in a nutshell:
Post BMHS was uneventful first couple of years. While I was earning my undergrad, I met my husband at 22. We made it "official" in 2002 on a beach in Cabo. I spent my 20's having a blast, going to school, and then graduating Magna Cum Laude from UC Irvine. I was in the Sociology Honors program and did joint research with a visiting professor, which lead to my 2 publications. My intent was to pursue a research oriented career in medical clinical social work. However, I did not accept either of the invitations (Loma Linda University and USC) to join their doctorate programs. I had became disillusioned by first hand experience in the field, particularly hospice politics.
My path led me into real estate instead, which opened many doors. By working in that field, a flair for design surfaced and I was mentored by the owner of a small firm who worked with high-end custom clients, as well as set up design centers for niche builders. I find as independant contractor, I'm best able to take on various opportunities that best suit me at that time.
In 2004, Joe was presented a work opportunity, which is why we located from Laguna Niguel to the east valley of the Phoenix area. We are very happy here just the 2 of us. Currently, we have mutually decided against plans for any children.
