After high school, I attended UCLA and earned a degree in Psychology. I began teaching in 1993 and entered into administration in 1998. I served as an elementary administrator for 13 years (three years as an Assistant Principal and 10 years as a principal). During that time I completed a Master's Degree in Education Administration and earned a Ph.D. I moved into District Administration in 2012 and currently serve as a Superintendent of the Glendale Unified School District.

When my brother (Darruis) asked to drive the car to McDonalds and got stuck on a big boulder going up the hill. He stopped traffic all the way back to Anza. So many people had to report to the office and get a late notice due to the traffic jam.
