School Story:

WHS activities: Varsity Soccer and Tennis, "B" Football. Marching Band, Speech and Debate Team, Earth Day Club.

Many fond memories from WHS (1966-1970) from activities noted above to an appreciation of the strong academics and inspiration of dedicated teachers. Valuable foundation propelled me throughout my life.

Truly an amazing teacher and even more amazing man. From his Earth Science Class in the Spring of 1970, we were inspired to celebrate the first "Earth Day" at West by planting a tree. He had a unique way of reaching his students and enriching their lives in ways that would carry forward for the rest of their lives.

Mr. Stanford was a great science teacher. His demeanor was like a tough union boss at times, but he knew his stuff and set high expectations for his students. His biology class was challenging. I was never more proud of getting an A in this class and it laid an important foundation for me going forward in my University studies in biology. Rest in peace. Sir.
