Charlie always had an upbeat personality.  He was a good friend and will be missed.

Charlie and I took drum lessons from the same drum teacher for several years before high school. I remember Charlie and his father always arriving a few minutes early just about the time the teacher informed me that I did not practice my drum lessons enough that week. Charlie's father always quietly sat in the room proudly observing his son demonstrate those recently mastered drum lessons. Charlie eventually went on to play the tympany or kettle drums in the percussion section of the THS orchestra. After graduating from THS Charlie was accepted into the U.S. Navy band where he continued to expand his percussion and musical skills. As time passed on, at our THS reunions, he always took time to share a story or catch up on recent events . . .  you are in my prayers my friend.

I had the opportunity to sit next to Charlie at the last reunion, a real gentleman. We talked about lots of things including questions I've had about piano tuning and the human ear vs electronics.  He was an asset to the class of 1965 while in school and on the reunion committee.  He leaves an empty spot in the hearts of many.
