Where are all the responses from our classmates?

The Class of 62 that I remember was far more verbal.

The original posting was in August of 2008........ No one has anything to say in the past six months?

Let me hear from you........

I just found out about the site, I don't think there are too many who are aware of it.

This may seem premature, but as the 50th reunion year approaches, we should start trying to find our classmates. If you can reach out to at least one person and have them join, and then persuade them in kind, we may find most of the people. Good luck and thanks.

I just found out about this site recently from Linda Russell. I know that many of our classmates may be on facebook now. That may be one vehicle to let classmates know about this site among others...I hope that we are able to reconnect with our classmate, because life is very short and what happens between the beginning and end of our journey is what's most important.Being able to reprise memories with our friends certainly can make the rest of the journey more enjoyable..

Hey Larry, thanks for the land line call with the heads-up about this web site.

I like the picture, of our school, in the upper left side of this page. The tree and the lawn, I think, look so much nicer than the parking lot that's there now. I used to love the smell of the fresh cut lawn, in the spring time, when the class room windows could finally be opened again.

Lookin' forward to the 50th......and beyond.

I haven't been on in a month or so, but thought I'd say hi to anyone who is tracking this discussion. As we get older, family and friendships become a vital part of our lives. Having lost two people in my immediate family in the past month has made me realize that life is too short. It's not the beginning or end of the journey that's important; what's important is those things that occur during our journey. That's why I hope this site can help us all reconnect so that we can relish and celebrate the good times. I loved my high school years and look back fondly on them. I hope that most of you do too.

I'm going to be in the Troy area for my mom's memorial service about 10am Sat Jun-5 at Bryce's. Then graveside in Berlin before/after lunch.

I'd like to have dinner with "old" friends who are in the area. I need some input about a good place to eat & drink & catch up on the last 50 years. I would love a clambake or clamsteam, and more casual than formal. I have turned into a real Californian.

Contact me or call me to help with the plans,

Linda, It was a joy visiting with you this past week. I hope you enjoyed your guided tour with me and Rocky. I especially enjoyed our visit to the Knotty Pine. The pizza was great and it was nice meeting the folks who worked there. I know Rocky really enjoyed himself too. Thanks, for introducing me to the folks at the local Toastmasters. I may eventually join them if my schedule permits. It was a fun night talking about my book with them. Plus I was able to get some networking help that may be beneficial down the road. Have a safe trip home and hope to see you at our 50th reunion...Herb

 Hi all

I have recently heard from some of our classmates about starting reunion plans--let's use this forum to communicate and form a committee.  Anyone who is interested in being on the committee please  weigh in on this site.  Please also spread the word about this site and  look at the list of missing classmates and see if you can help find anyone.

Here are some recent emails (most recent first)

From Ken Mandelbaum to Bob MacDonald

Bob

Great to hear from you--would love to catch up with everyone.

Here is an email exchange I recently had with Larry Beaudoin--sounds like reunion interest is heating up.  Let's use this site to post messages about the reunion.  Check out the message forum on this site.

I will send yours along to Larry as well.  Let's start a dialogue on the message forum.  I will do an email blast to the whole class to get them to use this site's message forum.

Best

Ken

hi ken, are you involved with plans for the 50th? just had lunch with karole delaney, dave borthwick and georgia holland and we voted georgia to be our rep to a planning committee. it sounds like there is anticipation for a gathering.

From Larry Beaudoin to Ken Mandelbaum

"We recently had dinner with Herb and his wife, Ron and Noreen Iacobucci, Rocky Stewart and his wife.  Your name was mentioned.  But in a good way.:-)

Sue Hains Connelly, Margaret Shinorkian, Zaynah Cassum et al are also interested.  We've even gone so far as to suggest a venue and type of gathering--(buffet to induce more mingling than a formal sit-down dinner.)

June would be a logical choice for the month.  If we start the search in the fall, that will give us 9 months before the due date in June.  Give it some thought."

From: Ken Mandelbaum  to Larry Beaudoin

I'm thinking we should have a re-union next year.  Any chance you and Sharon would be willing to be on a committee to help organize one?  I'm sure we could get a bunch of people involved to spread the work load.  Any suggestions of  classmates who are still in the area and might be interested?  I saw Joe Chesman and Jim Pollack(Cheryl Crandall too) last summer in Vermont.  Mark Ellenbogen came up as well.  I know Herb Hyde may be interested in getting involved. Also recently heard from Lee Deas who  now lives in Ithaca. Start a dialogue with me and I can send an email to the whole class from the site and start the ball rolling.

Best to Sharon

Ken, I have recently talked with Herb Hyde, Margaret Shinorkian and Cheryl Crandall Pollock.  All are interested in volunteering for the 50th reunion, as am I.   Let me know when I can do something.  Sandi Naylor, class of '62.

Although I live in South Carolina I am willing to assist in anyway possible.  I believe that I will attend the reunion.

Sue Hains (Connolly)

Count me in on any planning for our 50th.  My husband,  Ed,  had his 2 years ago (class of '59) It was a ton of work for the planners, but well worth the effort.  Looking forward to working with many of you.  Sue (Hains) Connolly

Hi, Ken. As Larry noted earlier, there are several people who would be willing to help out on our 50th reunion, myself included. I agree with Larry that an informal event is the way to go , especially at our "youthful" age...We had a wonderful time at Moscotella's restaurant talking and laughing about the good times we had at Troy High. We also discussed getting together again in a few months. It might be nice if we could have a little pre-planning get together this spring, Maybe late May or early June to get things rolling . In this day and age, 12 months is not a long lead time to reserve a place for this type of event...I can be reached at 518-237-0063 if anyone would like to participate in a planning luncheon/dinner get together.

Take care,

Herb

Great  we are getting a dialogue going--

Herb/Larry/Cheryl/Sandra/Georgia   start a committee---use this forum and let me know if you want me to send emails to as many classmates as I have on this site.

Read all the way to the bottom--we need to get better contact info for everyone

Got this from Cherl (Crandell) Pollock

hi ken, sandy naylor, a retired human relations director with excellent secretrial skills, has offered to do the mailings.  I gave her the CD you gave to me.

i suggested to the Bob Mc Donald group that met up here while i was in florida that we do something different in saratoga springs...more of a cultural weekend of events:
victorian ball at the Canfield Casino
  fishing in saratoga lake
  staying at a saratoga B&B
  picnic at the park
  a SPAC event
guided tour of historic homes in Saratoga Springs
What do you think?  Saratoga is such a fun place to be...safe, historic, lots of neat places to eat, canfield casino/museum, dance museum, library all within walking distance in a lovely downtown.

i sold my business and am focusing on making victorian patterns, getting sewing in albany votec school, some teaching.

I will try my best to make it. I fish with Jim Pollock for a month every year from the 3rd week in June to 3rd wk in July at Lake Champlain.  So, late June would be great or whenever. Brian and Helga are at bnhcranston@msn.com. I have recently been in contact with him to reconnect at our college reunion in June. Not much I can do from Alabama but let me know if needed. I'll see you Ken in July again.
