Margaret 'Peg' Vitolins, 60, of Lansing Avenue in Troy, died September 28, 2008, at Samaritan Hospital after a long illness. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was the wife of Modris 'Moe' Vitolins, THS '65, daughter of the late Richard B. and Elizabeth O. Mitchell, and stepdaughter of Dorothy MacPherson Skinner Mitchell (THS '41) of Kent, WA. She resided in Troy most of her life and was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1966, and The State University of New York at Albany in 1970. Peg was payroll supervisor for Farm Family Insurance Company in Glenmont for the past 30 years. She was an active member of the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church in Troy, the church choir, United Methodist Women, and the Order of the Eastern Star, Palestine Chapter. Her loves were her grandchildren, to whom she devoted the final years of her life, as well as playing the piano, gardening, and traveling. Survivors in addition to her husband and stepmother include her son, Andrew R. (Johna) Vitolins (THS '89) of Niskayuna; her daughter, Amy R. (Arthur) Bellini (THS '93) of Troy; her six grandchildren: Anna, Emma and Jack Vitolins, and Arthur III, Mitchell and Jordan Bellini; her sister, Betsy (Alan) Savery (THS '63) of Lincoln, CA; her step sister, Sandra THS '62 (Richard '63) Pochman of Renton, WA; brother-in-law Uldis THS '72 (Sue) Vitolins, sisters-in-law Nora Vitolins and Daphne Jones, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held on Saturday, October 4th, at the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church, 520 Pawling Avenue, Troy, with the Rev. Karyl Hopp officiating.  Interment was in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands. The family would like to thank the Samaritan Hospital 6th Floor staff, and Dr. Regina Resta and the NYOH staff, for all the love and support given to Peg. Death is nothing at all.  I have only slipped away into the next room.  I am I, and you are you.  Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.  Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used.  Put no difference into your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.  Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.  Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.  Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.  Let it be spoken without effort, without the ghost of shadow on it.  Life means all that it ever meant.  It is the same as it always was; there is absolutely unbroken continuity.  Why should I be out of your mind because I am out of your sight?

I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.

All is well.

Thought of you with love today, but that is nothing new. I thought about you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence, I often speak your name. All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is a keepsake, with which I'll never part. God has you in His keeping, I have you in my heart.
