Jim Spain

Message from Dawn Essegian Lajeunesse:

Many of you knew Jim Spain, Class of '68, who was responsible for getting our ClassCreator site started and who guided our class in the development of our '67 site. Last night I received the following sad news from one of Jim's Classmates, Dave Biggs:

THS Class of 1968 and friends

In case you’ve not heard, I am so sad to say we lost another dear classmate.  Jim Spain passed away Dec 6, 2016.

We extend our sincere condolences to Cathy, Jim’s wife and best friend, his extended family, and also to our classmate and his twin sister Judy and her family.

Many of you had a special relationship with Jim as I did.  My friendship with Jim actually became greater over the past few decades.  We discussed numerous issues related to the class and life in general.

I credit Jim for single-handedly bringing the Class of 1968 into the digital age.  Previously, a dedicated group would assemble at Judy’s home and we’d make calls, address letters and make many attempts to locate all of you.  Jim developed and administered the class email chain that we now use. He also lent his expertise to other THS classes to start their own program.

Jim also jumped in with both feet and ran several of our reunions.  That then led him to start and administer our Class of 1968 awards program.  He enjoyed seeing you and helping the class and THS.  For those that were close to Jim, you know he quietly helped out others in times of their personal need.  He did this all and never asked or expected anything in return! What a kind soul and a man of faith.

He did so much.  I will miss Jim and our talks that always ended with him saying “Be good my friend!”   Jim, rest in peace my friend.

We’ll send details on the funeral once they are finalized.

David Biggs
