Ken was my best friend, he served in the Army in Viet Nam.

My understanding is that he died from agent orange

Bill, sorry to hear of the passing of your friend, Ken, from agent orange. I understand that agent orange was a very toxic chemical. Most vets had issues when in contact with it because it was used as a defoliant to clear overgrowth in country and therefore, by design, was an extremely aggressive agent.

When I served, our ship carried a lot of containers of agent orange and many of my shipmates are now getting disabilities from the VA associated with it. I, fortunately, appear not to have been exposed to agent orange but a lot of veterans have been adversely impacted by the the long-term affects of it. I know that many guys on the riverine forces contracted various cancers apparently linked to agent orange exposure.

My condolences to Ken's family and friends.
