Comments:

Initially, I taught art for a couple of years. Then I went to Europe with John Brunelle and our friend Mike. In (the former) Yugoslavia John was our best man when Mike & I got married! We enjoyed living on Cape Cod and in "the scenic Mt. Washington Valley" in NH. I ended up in Ogunquit, ME where I met husband #2, Dan Hatch. We moved to Nashua, NH where I returned to teaching, after "a 30 year sabbatical." Now retired from teaching, I am enjoying the newest evolution of me: doulamama! As a doula I support expectant mothers and their families as they prepare for baby's birthday, and I'm with them through baby's birth. If you thought the mash potatoes was exciting, you should attend a person's entering this world!

School Story:

One morning on my way to school I was hit by a car. It was embarrassing. I sat up in the street, and I'm told that I fluffed my hair. I got up and hustled to the school bus (in shock). Now, girls didn't get seats on the Sycaway school bus. We stood. So, I stood from Sycaway to CCHS, where I collapsed into a vacated seat. Someone ran into the nurse's office to report my condition, and she sent out a handsome, upperclassman Big Man on Campus to carry me in to school. :o) I ended up on crutches, and within a couple of years, I also was on his arm at his June Prom! And that's how it's done.

I've just returned from a wonderful summer. I went to New Paltz, NY to provide daycare for my 5 year old granddaughter, Noah - who will begin kindergarten later this month. I took an apartment instead of staying at my daughter Chelsea's house, and I called my time there my Solitary Retreat of Twenty Fifteen. I used my time alone there to check in with myself. I'd hoped to find more depth, but I found out that, "What you see is what you get." I met lots of new friends and I had a great time. Nothing too serious, but then I've always loved a good summer vacation. I wrapped it all up with a visit to Barb (Mozier) Wolfe at her beautiful home in West Virginia. Again, we had a fantastic time! We're now looking forward to seeing many (dare I say?) old friends at out 50th CCHS reunion, next month. Hope you'll be there, too.
