I moved to the very small town of Colfax, Washington in 1974 where my two children, Tami and Shaun spent their formative years. After my divorce in 1986 I moved to Spokane, went to college to train to be a teahcer and met my husband, Dick. We married in 1989 and with his three children, Jeremy, Holly and Crystal we began our new family. We have since been blessed with eight grandchildren.
I am in my sixteenth year of teaching and I love it. Dick is director of a music ministry that promotes Christian concerts in several states. Our lives are full with family, church and our jobs.
Well, probably my most vivid memory would be the time Becky Sullivan and I were goofing of in Mr. Engbretson's class and pushed him too far. He called us up front, opened the sliding wall (they had to have another teacher for a witness) and proceeded to give each of us a hack. I had on a Valentine's dress with lots of peddicoats and my hack was more of a "swoosh". I told him, "You only get one shot," and sat down. Poor Becky had on a straight skirt. Wonder if she remembers this.
Now that I am a teacher myself, there have been many times I feel Mr. Engbretson would have some really good laughs over some of the students I have had.
