I was a professional student studying art, science and engineering. I finally graduated in '89 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Joined the U.S. Coast Guard working as USCG Engineering Officer on Governors Island, NY and then onboard a 210-ft Coast Guard Cutter the "Dependable" patrolling the Caribbean for two years.
I've lived in Manhattan, NY; Panama City, FL, Galveston, TX and now in Albuquerque, NM. I got out in '93 and gave teaching a try in Tucson, and was teaching Math and Science at Palo Verde HS and Sahuaro HS.
Sold out to the establishment in '98 and took a job in Albuquerque, NM as a Mechanical Engineer for the U.S. government and have been working and living there ever since.
Still single and never married, it's weird 30 years just flew by like the blink of an eye. It's so cliche' but so eerily accurate.
I did bump into Charlotte Jones, our student body president, while backpacking at the bottom of the Grand Canyon about five years ago, kind of surreal, but a true story.
