Ernest Paul Russell November 11, 1947 – February 10, 2009 Our loving husband, father, son, and brother died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 10, 2009.

Ernie was born in Tucson to Betty and Frank Russell. He graduated from Tucson High School in 1965. Ernie has been married to his high school sweetheart and best friend, Karen, for 40 years. Ernie proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Ticonderoga.

Ernie leaves behind his beloved wife, Karen, and three children who loved him dearly: Kristie (Jay) Winter, Katie (Dan) Poore, and Scott (Ashley) Russell. His four grandchildren, Lindsey and Jackson Poore and Griffin and Molly Winter all loved to play with their "Papa Ernie". Ernie also leaves behind his father, Frank; sister, Patti (John) Fredrickson; nephew, Tyler Fredrickson; his aunt, Mary Jo Frazelle; cousins, Alan (Magdalena) Coulson, Barbara (Richard) Luckett, and mother and father-in-law, Clark and Kathryn Tinney.

Ernie's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. We all miss Ernie more than words can express.

A Memorial will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
