It is with profound sadness we post the passing of an amazing person, leader and volunteer:
Lee Sebring, Honorary Firefighter

From 1968-69, Lee served as a medic with the 3rd Marine Division's medevac unit at Da Nang Air Base, South Vietnam. After returning from the battlefield, he used his experience to advocate for the creation of an emergency-medicine training program in Tucson – insisting that civilians deserved at least the same level of care as military personnel received during wartime.

In 1974, Lee became the instructor-coordinator for Arizona’s first emergency paramedic program. He went on to work as a locomotive engineer for Southern Pacific Railroad, but never lost his passion for public service and the fire service community.

Lee worked with a cadre of retired firefighters to restore two historic Tucson Fire Department apparatus: a 1928 Ahrens Fox, and 1923 American-La France (ALF). Both engines, restored to museum-quality, are on grand display in the lobby of Tucson Fire Department's Fire Central.
