Monika Woolsey

October 18, 1960 - September 26, 2017

Her parents gave out this wonderful remembrance of Monika in the form of a bookmark which included a fun photo of her in a Carmen Miranda outfit complete w/her veggie hat (instead of the signature Tutti-Frutti hat) at her Memorial Services (Phoenix & Tucson):

In her own words:  "I love food.  I love art.  I love how both bring people together who otherwise would not know they had things in common.  So that is my life's work, bringing people together to nourish their stomachs as well as their spirits."

Keep a little bit of Monika in your life!  Honor her memory and her generous spirit by enjoying her recipes and well written and fascinating articles.

What immediately comes to mind for me when I think of Monika was her heart of gold.  She had such love, kindness and warmth that radiated from within her through the twinkle in her eyes, her big beautiful smile and infectious laugh.

We were in and out of each other's lives throughout the many years since high school but it was always so easy to pick back up with each other where we last left off.  I am so saddened that Monika's life was cut much too short.  However, she packed her almost 57 years of life helping, teaching and making a meaningful difference in the many lives that she touched including mine!

I am sorely missing her and wish that we could have had one more get together like we used to.  I will think of Monika often and will always hold a special place for her in my heart.  Be at peace.  Naomi (Lewis) King
