Gloria R. Pena, 61, of Dumas, died Sunday, July 13, 2014.

Rosary will be said at 1:00 p.m. and mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014, in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Dumas with Father Gabriel Garcia as celebrant. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas, 500 N. Maddox Ave.

Gloria was born June 22, 1953, in Cuero to Mercie H. and Maria Ruiz.  She attended Wayland Baptist University in Plainview.  Gloria starred in the musical, Texas.  She married Louis A. Pena on April 20, 1974, in Tulia.  Gloria worked as a bank teller at First State Bank and as an office assistant at Morning Side Elementary.  She also assisted her brother in the photography business and she owned and operated the Merle Norman Studio from 1999 until 2009.  Gloria was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she led the choir for thirty years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Benjamin Ruiz.

Survivors include her husband, Louis A. Pena, of Dumas; a daughter, Heather Y. O’Donnell of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, Christon Y. Pena of Nashville, TN; a brother, Ray A. Ruiz of Fort Worth; and three half-brothers, Lawrence Anzaldua and Alfred Anzaldua, both of Cuero and Jake Anzaldua of Luling.

The family suggests memorials be made to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church Building Fund, 900 Bruce Ave, Dumas, TX 79029.
