Hejin the Cancun things sounds awesome. I would love that. AR sounds really good too. Count me in.

Stephanie Teehee (Peterson)

omg HeJin, I'm over here cracking up about rearranging your furniture every few months!! I do the same thing! Everytime someone comes over, the first thing they say is "You rearranged the place again" hahaha...I don't feel quite so weird now!

I have 2 trips to Vegas planned for next year. One in January for a friend's bday, and one in June or July for a bowling tournament (husband bowls, not me). But, if we really can get something going on for AR in May, and it would be cheap rent...I'm pretty sure I could swing that! Esp for just a long weekend. So it may be almost a year away, but barring any life changing events between now and then, you can sign me up.

Hmmm, now that I think about it, that may be too far away. Maybe we need to plan one for sometime this year, then we could go back in May. Any takers??

HeJin Lee (Waldran)

I'm in for this year, any time except for the month of Oct & 1st week of Nov is out...gun show and govt. contract season! :( That's exactly what I was thinking Sue...too far away!

Yes, Vegas is another place that will be perfect for just the girls! Price is cheap and it's a doable weekend trip! I already have a trip planned in 1st week of June, of course JUST the girls!! ;) I sound pretty bad huh?! I really do like my husband...you gotta think though, we work together! :O hee hee

Okay, you guys figure it out...just count me in on all the above! I guess that's one thing about not having children...

HEY TJ!

I sent you the code for the video of Michael Jackson's Thriller let me know if it works for you.

OH and if there is any others that you can't get let me know.

Tj Kirste (Wolski)

Sherry, I am going to try the code later today when I get to work and see if it will work. If it does then you all will get to see it. Hopefully it does.

Sorry wasn't on much yesterday. Life here was crazy!!!! And today I get my last shot in my knee so hopefully I won't be in too much pain! I'll be around though and I am going to work on some stuff for the website today at work...cause yet again I have no work to do!!!! (God I only wish this internship offered more stuff for me to do!)

I know, Kristi. I was so looking forward to 3 days worth of posts/messages and nada, nill, zero:).

We had family at our house all weekend. And I hate to say it, but I'm glad their gone and we've got our house back to normal!Shhh...don't tell anyone.

Sue Young (Myers)

I rarely get on the computer at home...mostly I like to waste time at work logging in. :) How was everyone's weekend? I'm gearing up for vacation...less than 4 weeks to beaches and margaritas. I can't wait, I NEED a break!

Kristi Donaghue (Frank)

Sue can I hide in your suitcase!!

07/21/08 12:25 PM #247

Sue Young (Myers)

What suitcase?? All I need is a swimsuit and towel and I'm good to go. ;)

Our 15 year wedding anniversary is the 13th, and we leave for VACA the 16th. So this is a sort of anniversary celebration for us, that we're sharing with friends. I guess that gets him out of buying me a gift, huh??

I was super busy this weekend studing for a test that I had today! Plus I was having to wait on the hubby hand and foot all weekend long. He crushed his tibilia plateau a couple weeks ago and pretty much is on cruches for the next 2 months! OMG! Kill me now! I swear I don't get why men (maybe it is just mine) are the biggest babies!

I also walked 5 miles yesterday morning and 6 miles on Saturday morning. It was beautiful here in CO Springs. That is the one thing I truly love about here - very little humidity and I can walk around and explore the trails on base. I have lived on the Academy for 2 years and took a trail for the first time yesterday. Had to be careful and look out for the bears but oh well...I can live with them. (had one Saturday night run up the tree across the road from me and the neighbor hit it a bunch of times with his paint ball gun so we have a very colorful black bear running around the base now!)

I looked at the link Sherry sent me for the thriller dance but it was not postable. I tried it and it wouldn't come up at all. Go figure!

Now I am just sitting here at work - yet again not doing a dang thing! and hoping to catch up with everyone.

Hey Sue...congrats on the anniversary! I know that next year hubby and I will be celebrating our 20th and I have full intensions of taking a vaca (a cruise) without the kids since we did not have any sort of honeymoon at all when we got married.

Kristi Donaghue (Frank)

TJ how did he hurt his knee? I think all men when sick or hurt are BIG BABIES!! Totally agree with you on that.
Wish I lived in CO. The humidty here is horrible. I think today feels like 99 degress. UGH :(

Tj Kirste (Wolski)

He was being stupid! He was participating in Squadron PT (physical training) and they were doing Ultimate Frisbee and he tried to go for a frisbee that there was no way in hell he would have gotten. He went one way and his knee when another. At first they thought it was just a knee sprain, then he went back to his doc (the ER doc said it was a knee sprain) and his doc thought it was a torn ACL or MCL then he went to get an MRI done and they noticed the crushed tibilia plateau. So...in just a two week time he went from a sprain to a crushed bone! Go figure! He had me running and getting him all kinds of stuff this weekend - go get me something to eat, get my computer, go downstairs and look for this backpack. I swear! I felt like his little maid all weekend long. Granted he was hurt but when I get hurt I still do things for myself. Hell...the day he hurt his knee I went in and got a shot in my knee and then again last Friday I got another shot in my knee...and I am surviving. Oh well...I'll quit complaining.

TJ - we did not go on a honeymoon either. The first trip we took as a couple, which we called our late honeymoon, was to Mexico in 2005. (so we had been married almost 12 years by then.) Since then though we have caught up, gone on several trips together. If I had it to do over, I would have eloped, gone on an aweseome vacation and skipped the church bit. ;) But when you get married young, you tend to enjoy dressing up, taking pictures, etc. LOL.

So have you heard back from Class of 88 yet? Are they going to let us sign in on theirs so we can check out our friends from that class?

07/22/08 05:24 PM #253

Tj Kirste (Wolski)

I have not heard back from them at all. Not sure why either. I will email them again to see if they would be willing work with us on setting up the profile.

Just an FYI to any of you who plan on taking your husbands to Hot Springs for that reunion meeting. There are GREAT golf courses over there in Hot Springs Village and at Hot Springs Country Club. If anyone wants a recommendation on which courses I'll be happy to name a few.

omg I don't think my husband could even hit the ball much less get it in the greens!!! LOL

07/23/08 04:57 PM #256

Tj Kirste (Wolski)

Sherry you are too funny!!! My hubby has played on a course or two in Hot Springs but there is no way he would even think of coming with me to AR again! (let alone the reunion!) He school of thought is I did it once - not doing it again. Heck he didn't even go to his 20th reunion this year in Claremore! Oh well! His loss!!! Thanks though for the info!!!

I know! Larry tried golf one time and that was it for him. He hated it.

When my dad was driving a tour bus in high school I'm not sure which band it was Van Halen or Molly Hatchet we stopped at a driving range. My dad had to make me quit because instead of the ball going forward they were going sideways. Now if anybody could do that it was me. How they were going sideways is beyond me. Balls were flying at other people in the band and of course they were laughing but I never picked up another club after that. It was hilarious.

When we lived in AR the hubby and I were members of the country club (I know...living in the country and being a member of the country club I can already hear the stupid country song in my head) in the town we lived in. I used to love to go out on the range and hit the ball. My DH said that I was a natural. I don't know about that. I just had fun being able to laugh at myself for not hitting the ball. And I loved to drive around in the golf cart! I have yet to get out onto the links here at the Academy but from what I can tell it is a very nice course. The Senior Open is coming here to CO Springs next week so all the oldies will be around town. I was going to go but with school and work there is no way I can make it.

I'm good at putt putt golf...but I love to watch the real thing!!!

07/24/08 08:11 PM #261

Wendy Phelps (Maxey)

I have played golf a few times. Mostly golf scrambles through work. They actually played off my ball a couple of times. My problem is that I never knew which club to use. I think I used the same club for all 18 holes, except when I putted. I think the best think about golfing if letting some one else drive me around in the golf cart while I drink beer. :)

That's the best way to go.
