Hi everyone! I wasn't able to attend the last meeting due to our family vacation so...I was hoping to come to the next one. I will be in Europe from 9/18-9/29. Can we do it in Oct before Kristi leaves? I've got a lot of pics from the 10th reunion that I will bring for Angie. A Friday night sounds good to me too. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone!
Apparently people around here work for a living...no movement on the MB in 5 days! What gives??
I asked to be set up with a guest profile on the c/o 88 webiste. They had their reunion this past weekend, and from the postings on the MB sounds like it was a good one! Makes me a little more fired up now for ours. A year seems so far away, but it will sneak up us if we don't at least put some ideas out there now.
We've been looking into different ideas for locations for a Saturday night event. 88 had theirs at the Stokely event center, which looks like a pretty cool place. Their ticket prices were a little more than what we were shooting for though. Anyone have any suggestions for places to look at? Something fun. There are a couple places we have looked at, but I'm looking for creativity here people!
I have been looking on the site when I can. My life has been so crazy lately! Between the hubby and all his medical issues then the migraines for me that have really been taking me out a lot and then DJ's football life...I really have not had a life! I have even had to shut down my blog on xanga because I just do not have time for it anymore!!!
I think that we really need to pick a site but I think that once we have our next meeting (which is now looking like it will be the middle of Oct rather than early in Oct) we will have a better grasp on what and when we can do our reunion. I have been looking into fundraising sites on the internet and have found a few things to bring to the table. But we shall see when we meet. So those on the committee...chime in on the email that I and Sue sent out.
Oh...Britton I sent an email to the band that you suggested from myspace. It may be beyond our budget. I would love to have a local band play at our reunion though.
Oh another funny...this week is spirt week for my daughter. Their homecoming is Friday and she figured that since it is her last year in HS she would participate. Well...she came to me on Sunday night telling me that Monday was 80's day. I had to dress her up in clothes from the 80's. She swore that we dressed so stupid! I told her I could have done her hair "big" but she wouldn't let me! I tried to find a banana clip last minute but couldn't find them. I had to make leg warmers for her and I penciled her pants. She said we dressed like dorks in the 80's. It was truly funny!!!
I have some AWESOME pictures from our freshman year. All the guys had mullets with perms. So sweet! Glad it wasn't just the girls who had bad hair moments. They had mullets, we had Aqua Net!
It's funny, TJ, that you said you were making leg warmers for your daughter to wear for 80's day. I had just read your post on the message board last week. Then a few days later I was looking at the ads from the paper, and Sears had leg warmers in their ad! Are they going to come back in style? Your daughter may have to eat her words that we dressed like dorks.
School is becoming overwhelming for me! I am in the process of writing a midterm paper that is due next monday! So I have to say I haven't even been to the site in the past week. Pretty dang sad considering I started the website.
And we all thank you TJ for getting us up and running. I'm just sad there aren't more people who want to come out and play with me...
Yes, I have work to do but it's Friday and I am trying to ignore it as much as possible. BAH HAH HAH HAH...
And I'm functioning on very little sleep as I have been getting up every morning to walk the dog. This dog is either going to be the death of me, or make me into a supermodel with all the calories I'm burning.
Hey Sue! I Haven't been on the site in over a month! I would love to do it more, but life just gets so busy! ( plus my desk at work is in the front office and I have no privacy) I'm typing this on an Ipod touch and it's kind of a nuisance. Got a call from my Dad today that my Mom fell and broke her hip. Crazy! She's having a hip replacement tomorrow morning. She fell in the backyard and was home alone. SAy a prayer for her. Surgery is at 8:00 Sunday AM. Hopefully won't have to make a quick trip to Tulsa. The girls and I are for sure coming to T Town the weekend before Thanksgiving. Maybe we could get together. I Finally got a facebook page. You'll have to add me as a friend. I'm just learning. TTFN , Tina
I hope that the meeting went well this weekend. If someone could shoot me an email on what was discussed and what the next steps are that need to be taken then that would be great. I wish I could have listened in but I was having to run around for my mom. She decided last minute before she leaves for CA this week for her 50th reunion that she needs all this stuff done! Lovely! Anywho...I may be missing for a few days cause I am having to send my laptop in to get my motherboard replaced. There are some major issues that they failed to notify the consumers about and if not for the guy at the computer repair place I would have had to spend over $300 to get a new one! Just got to love HP and Compaq!!!
Tina - so sorry about your mom. If I get a chance, I may stop by and say hello this week. I just hate that our parents are getting older. I am constantly worried about MY mom's HBP. It just sucks. I will definitely be thinking of her. Keep me posted. (And yes, I should be free to do something that weekend, so let me know.)
TJ, I'll send up something about the meeting this week. I have a very crazy work week, but will get you something soon.
I went to see Night Ranger at the Tulsa State Fair last month. :) It was actually a pretty good show, and they had 3 of the 5 original members there, including the lead singer.
