I went to school with John starting with Lanier and ending at Rogers.   In 6th grade we had a student named Roger Tipton who suffered from muscular dystrophy.  Roger was at the blackboard and fell and the teacher was telling him to get up and he couldn't by himself.   John Bell was not even as tall as Roger and he got up and went to Roger put his shoulder under Roger's lifted him up and helped him to his seat.   I never forgot that kindness and John Bell,  and his great caring and character.  He left us too soon.
