CLASSMATES WE'VE LOST

Chuck Alderson - Class Of 1974

From Chuck's siblings Jean, John and Jim:

Chuck died in a car accident on Friday August 18th with the love of his life, his wife Leah.

Chuck joined the Navy after high school serving on the USS Wahoo, the last of the US’s diesel submarines. At 6’5” Chuck told stories of having only 3 places where he could stand up straight, one of the places was on deck.  After the Navy Chuck moved to Los Angeles working in the new computer industry using the skills he acquired in the service.

It was late in his life he met Leah, they were truly made for each other. They moved to Cottonwood Arizona where he continued to work in computer networking and Leah as an office manager. They were both active in their church, recently they took on the job of managing “Picnic in the Park” a monthly rotation of Cottonwood churches that hosted a big weekly dinner to feed the homeless. Chuck was also active in the local homeless veteran organization.

The shock of their untimely deaths has left the rest of the Alderson clan heartbroken. We had all intended to celebrate with you our years at Summerville High School but none of us are ready to celebrate right now.  Chuck and Leah had a wonderful funeral with 200+ people in attendance; I will end with some of the wise words of one of the 4 ministers that spoke shared.

Please remember to tell all the people in your life that you love them.

John, Jean and Jim Alderson

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear about Chuck and his wife.  I remember him as your cute little brother who liked to hang out with the "big kids".  It sounds like he grew up to be an incredible young man. I hope you're finding comfort in all of your fond memories.  --   Don Recek
