Mary Allen Dixon

John and I married 6/30/1984 and lived in a suburb of Syracuse. We moved to Richfield Springs in 1990 and lived there for about 2 years. We moved to Gouverneur in 1995 and haven't found a reason to move from here! I began working for Gouverneur Schools in 1996 and now my husband, John, is my boss. This has worked out well because he knows that I am the boss at home! :-)

John and I will be experiencing "empty nest" syndrome in the fall. This will be quite an adjustment! However, working in the high school, we always seem to be involved in teenage activities so that's how we will continue to stay busy.

While we were celebrating Homecoming this past fall, I was remembering how we used to make a casket and a dummy, hang it by its neck and then carry the casket around the school and sing, "poor Raiders, poor Lowville Raiders, because they're rough and tough and they must die..." Then we burned it in effigy at the bonfire. Boy, you can't do that now!!!
