Attended Musician's Institute (Guitar Institute of Technology) in Hollywood till '82, stayed in LA, wrote songs and guitar instruction books, and played in bands in LA till '84. Moved back to Turlock area and owned a music retail store in Turlock from '85-'90. Got married and moved back to LA till '94. I jumped on the country music bandwagon and actually got signed to a record label based in Nashville (the label went under soon after, I only did one album with them that was not successful), and moved to Nashville in '94 where we have lived ever since. We LOVE it here in Nashville. I continue to write and perform around town. My most success as a writer so far was a top 40 hit in Europe, woopty doo :), but have released several guitar books I've written that have sold well, thank God. Recent TV and Film projects we've composed music specifically for have been: "It's a New Day, Today" for NBC's "Today Show"
, "Spiderman 3" movie trailer, "Live Free or Die Hard - Die Hard 4", "Yes Man" movie trailer, NASCAR "Be There" campaign on the SPEED Channel, ect. My wife Deborah (Beyer High grad, 1981) and I have 3 awesome sons. We are very involved in our church and we have a family band (sort of a modern day Partridge Family :), we lead worship at homeless shelters and at our church, and jam on classic rock. If it were'nt for those braces, I could teach my son to play with his teeth :)
That's it for now....
Would love to hear from you guys.....
Steve
oh wow, there are so many.....
remember so well our band "Vasion" (Matt George, Stefan Sherman, myself, and Tim Dixon) playing Be Bop day our senior year. Roy Cabral's famous water dive, grad night at Disneyland, playing baseball, playing "Free Bird" over and over again....pretty much everything about senior year :)
