
Carolyn Sexton Perkins died at age 64 on 12-31-2014, after a brave and years' long battle against breast cancer. Mrs. Perkins was born November 23, 1950 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Comer and Noel Sexton. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Church, Columbus, MS. Mrs. Perkins was a teacher at Caledonia Elementary School for 22 years. In addition to her parents, she in preceded in death by her father-in-law, Elder Merritt Perkins; mother-in-law, Geraldine Stewart; and brothers, Comer "Bill" Sexton, Robert Lee "Cooter" Sexton, James Reuben "Bubba" Sexton, and Thomas Franklin "Tommy" Sexton. Mrs. Perkins is survived by her husband, Bob Perkins of Columbus, Miss.; daughter, Jamie Perkins of Southaven, Miss.; son, Matthew (Savannah) Perkins of Columbus, Miss.; stepdaughters, Debbie (Neil) Fuller of Sturgis, Miss. and Michelle Couture of Dallas, Texas; stepson, Bobby Perkins of Columbus, Miss.; mother-in-law, Fran Perkins of Columbus, Miss.; brother, Horace Woodrow "Woody" (Joann) Sexton of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was a dear friend. She fought cancer from our Univ. of Ala.days. We didn't have a lot of contact after she left here and married but we kept in touch. I miss her.
