Comments:

I graduated from Ohio Wesleyan and University of Cincinnati Law School, practiced law in Cincinnati and Columbus until 1986, moved to Cleveland with Peter and Mary (then aged 5 months) when Peter accepted the deanship of Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Had 2 more girls and went back to work in 2001 as a breast cancer survivor. I teach at Lakeland Community College. We enjoy living in the diverse community of Shaker Heights, being close to all the cultural amenities of Cleveland.

School Story:

Oddly enough, one of the things I really miss about high school is the Choir. I remember how we used to pass things through the rows during performances at a downtown hotel, and how the audience at the Scioto Country Club got teary when we sang Christmas carols. Someone always threw up on the bus, but those were the days. Lots of laughs!!

I found this treasure while cleaning out my attic. My mother lovingly recorded all the names of my classmates. 2nd Grade at Barrington.

Pat and I met on the first day of first grade.  Our mothers became friends, so we always had a pretty close connection all through high school, and then college.  I think she would be so pleased to know what you all have said, and Dan, you hit the nail on the head when you said she was an independent thinker.  Her husband of 36 years, Don Riechel, who had been a German professor at OWU, took excellent care of her through her Alzheimers journey.  She ended up at the Forum in Columbus, and I visited her there a few times in the last couple of years.  It broke my heart to see the light going out of her eyes.  What a horrible disease.  On a lighter note, if you watch the video on the Schoedingers website, you will see photos of a beloved "only child." (I'm the one wearing saddle shoes with shorts on a fall day in fourth grade).  Pat obviously distinguished herself at OSU.  She seemed to have mastered the difficult art of step-parenting as well.  And she was a very good person.

Barbara, I remember when you moved to Arlington, maybe in 2nd grade! And you joined a Brownie troop and your mother was a leader. I remember going to a movie—maybe your birthday? I WANT to know what movie that was. It was a war movie and I’ve remembered it my whole life. Thanks for checking in to the class of 65.
