Janell Shockey Bartzatt

Over the past fifteen years I attended two community colleges. At first I thought I wanted to be a childcare worker, then I changed my career choice to administrative support. I have enjoyed working in the state sector as well as the private sector. Now I get to enjoy the fruitful benefits and learning opportunities of being a stay-at-home mom, although most of the time I learn more from Alex & Ethan, and the humbleness that motherhood brings :>) I am also the childcare coordinator at our church here in Omaha and take many opportunities to be involved in church activities. I regularly go back "home" to York to visit with family and friends. Some of my favorite hobbies include scrapbooking, reading, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with family.

One of the more memorable moments for me during high school would have to be the time that my friends Christy Renquist and Carrisa Richt and I were trying to make it to a party at Lynnelle's house and we missed our turn and got my car stuck on the muddy "low maintenance road". It was dark and we couldn't see anything and had to walk in the mud and as we were walking we lost our shoes in the mud. Then we had to stop at a farmhouse to ask to use the phone to have someone come and pick us up so we could get to the party. We made it to the party, as I recall Myretta came and picked us up, then I had to try and explain to my dad and brother the next day why they needed to bring the tractor to get my car unstuck - Crazy :)
