Allison JANE (MacVicar) PARKER

Obituary - July 21, 1946 to April 22, 2018

Allison Jane Parker ("Janey") was born July 21, 1946 in Vancouver, and died April 22, 2018 suddenly after a battle with cancer. She had a long and enjoyable career at Telus where she made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed her retirement by travelling, dragon boating, golfing, and reading. She will be sadly missed by her friends and family, who loved her self- deprecating sense of humour. A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at St. Patrick's Parish, 2881 Main Street, Vancouver.

my sincere condolences to her immediate and extended family. Jane was my prom date when we graduated from Eric Hamber in 1964. I will always remember her as the beautiful young woman that she was. Harley Mackoff

Memories of Jane go so many years back, pre-elementary and elementary days.  Played "kick-the-can, Red Rover, go-go-stop, rode bikes to Douglas Park, swung on the swings for hours on end, and just played as little kids of past days did till dirty and exhausted.  All with David, Hans, Sheila, Darlene, Sharon - just a few of the neighbourhood rat pack of kids. We had so much fun and those memories are now flooding back.  Rest easy my old friend, you had a good life and left love and memories for many of us.

Jane and I lived across the street from each from before elementary school to all through high school.  She used to come over to my house to watch TV as her family didn’t have one.  As Carol has mentioned we were part of a group of neighbourhood kids that played together.  As we got older Jane was an instigator in having mixed parties.  It is sad when an old neighbourhood friend dies and events  from so many years ago are once again remembered.  Rest In Peace Jane.
