Lyn McCauley Merryfeather

I was in practice as a nurse until 2009, at which time I retired to become a full time graduate student. I completed my PhD in nursing, with a research focus in gender diversity. I have since published a book called "You've Changed" which is a distillation of my dissertation.

I have been married twice, once to a man, and once to a woman. I am now single and live happily in Duncan. I volunteer at Hospice, offering grief support, and am the president of my strata council. I am also very active in my community. I have a sweet Pomeranian dog who marches to her own weird little drummer, and a Siamese cat who is the boss of all she surveys, of course.

That's about all I can easily report on in the last 50 years. It has been, in the immortal words of Dickens, the best of times and the worst of times...mostly best.

I really did not have a very good time at High School until I discovered grade 12 English and dear Mr. Sutherland. I have been writing ever since and have just published a book which was derived from my dissertation. Anyhow, it was while sitting in his class that I heard of the assassination of President Kennedy. I still have the poem I wrote in response.
