Loy Volkman and I have different memories of Don Lambert.  Loy thinks he died in a sledding accident in 6th or 5th grade. 

I remember him being around in 8th or 9th grade.

I see him listed as "living" in Colorado....so....HE LIVES!!  But, when did he leave VB and under what circumstances??

My last recollection of Don, who was the Class of 63's "Fonz ", (so damn cool...and I think he was a drummer in the Band, and that was sooooo way damn cool!!)  it must have been 8th or 9th grade. One nite at a sock hop in the Pit, he cornered me in the men's head and threatened to take my head off...I forget what transgression he accused me of....but I gave him a sincere denial and I told him if he must, go right ahead and beat away...he cooled down and must have believed me as he showed me how to untie my tie, apparently tied in a "granny" knot, and tie with a double Windsor knot...that I have used ever after.

I also seem to recall whispered half rumors about him frequenting that "evil city of downtown Dayton" doing who knew what...but it had to have been dangerous because who in the right mind would venture into Dayton's environment at night?  Rike's Christmas window...yeah, but Dayton at night...no way Jose!!

Now that is a school memory. I hope other classmates will join in forums, surveys and discussions.  Still not sure about Don's where abouts, but I thought he was cute and remember him at Morton Jr. High when I first moved to Vandalia.

Not sure if he is the same Don Lambert in CO, but I found an address and the age was right, so I sent a postcard .. it was not returned,  maybe we will hear from him if he is one in the same.

If he is still mad at you, we can get a group together to watch your back if he shows up in town, etc.

Donnie Powell was the boy killed in the sledding accident on Meeker Road - he was not

in our class.  I remember Don Lambert until our 10th grade. 

I just read all your comments on Don and decided to check out our year book. The last one he was in was 1961, when we were sophmores. Wonder what happened to him?
