NOEL HOWARD ATHERTON known to his friends as "Howie" was born in the state of Florida on March 30, 1945 and died on November 17, 1993 at the age of 48 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH.
Howie was a fun guy to be around and lived his life to the fullest. He was divorced at the time of his death and is sadly missed by his many friends and family.

My family moved to Vandalia in 1954 and I started in the 4th grade that fall. I'm not sure when, but it seems like Howie and I were buddies at an early age. We spent a lot of time together and I know that I missed him a lot when he went to Patterson Co OP the 11th and 12th grade.Howie loved music and dancing. He had the biggest collection of 45s that I ever saw. He would buy the latest hits every week with his newspaper money.
Howie was married twice and the last one ended on a bad note. He took it hard, and it took a long time to get over it. It was sad because he was coming around and finally being the old Howie again when he passed away. HOW (Thats what we called him)was the oldest of the 5 Atherton boys. I wiil keep his memory with me forever as he is buried right across the road from my Vickie.
Howie was a true friend and not one to let you down. He was always there for you.
