In Memory

Dave Sabec

DAVID LOUIS SABEC, was born on August 31, 1945.  David was a wonderful friend and one of the sweetest caring guys in the class of 1963.

David proudly served his country as Private First Class in the United States Marine Corp.  At the young age of 20, His life ended when he died defending his country on March 5, 1966  in combat in the Republic of South Vietnam. Military Region 1 - Quang Ngai.

He never had the opportunity to marry, have a family or enjoy a long life.  I do belive he was one of the first from our class to die.  He left his parents & brother & many friends and comrades to mourn his passing.

Let us never forget his sacrifice and honor him and all of our veterans always.

I knew Dave for a long time as his brother was a member of my Dad's baseball team, which gave us a connection. Dave was such a wonderful guy. He was extremely quiet and very shy, but well liked. How appropriate to have the VFW hall named after him. How proud I am to have known him.

I first meet Dave in 1955 when his family moved from Overlook in Dayton. We grew up as best friends. Dave was always at my house or I was at his. Dave's parents Larry Sr, and Betty were my 2nd parents. We had a lot of great times together and I miss him. What a great friend!

I rember Dave fondly. He was quiet, but, I found him very interesting and kind. I did a "rubbing" of his name at the Memorial wall I'm Washington DC, which I still have.

Thank you for your service, Dave! You have not been forgotten. May you rest in peace.
